Kanye West - Yeezus [2013]

"Y'all throwing contracts at me
You know that niggas can't read."

I jumped on board the hype train hard for this album, I thought My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy was awesome and I was looking forward to Kanye's new album, moreso after the slight disappointment of Cruel Summer. This release goes in the opposite direction of Dark Fantasy; instead of going for the multilayered, orchestral sound, Kanye stripped everything down for Yeezus.

Emancipator - Dusk To Dawn [2013]

"Minor Cause"

Emancipator's new album, Dusk To Dawn, just came out yesterday and I've had a chance to give it a few listens all the way through and I can say I enjoyed it.

Lauren Bousfield - Locked Into Phantasy [2012]

"The Ropes Our Nights Were Laid Across, Pulled Taut"
Another  release with some breakcore elements inline with my previous review of Rossz Csillag Allat Született. Like the previous release, the sound of this EP can be slightly abrasive and hard hitting but there are quite a few nice melodies dispersed into the songs.

Venetian Snares - Rossz Csillag Allat Született [2005]

"Why am I frightened so easily.
Pidgeon, why can you scare me?"
This album is an insane blend of classical and breakcore, two styles that end of complementing each other very well. The pleasing classical portions are dispersed with brain blasting break beats; the juxtaposition of these two ends up in a nice balance.

M|O|O|N - M|O|O|N EP [2012]

"I'm here to tell you how to kill people."
Been crushing a close friend's Let's Play channel [MrFauxFish] and the Hotline Miami soundtrack really grabbed my attention.

Death Grips - NO LOVE DEEP WEB [2012]

"I got the nasty in my taxi you need a lift
you can sit between the backseat and my dick."
So, yeah, I chose a different album cover because I didn't want a dick showing up. Holy shit, this album is bananas. Almost every track on this album makes me want to go break shit and most of this album is on my workout playlist.

BATS - The Sleep of Reason [2012]

"Present day and the myth still lingers."
Only discovered BATS early in 2012 and enjoyed their first release, however I had no idea new album was going to be released. I stumbled across The Sleep of Reasons and I really enjoyed it.

Milo - things that happen at night [2013]

"You wonder if you're really alive
and I'm asking if I'm dead still."
This is Milo's second EP, good lord, I know it doesn't matter at all for the music, but the album art for both EPs are too sick. I don't know if I should judge both EPs separately but I feel they aren't too far apart except that the beats on this EP feel a lot more powerful.

Milo - things that happen at day [2013]

"I don't make promises I can't keep,
which is why I won't make promises ever."
One of the first releases of 2013 that I've listened to. Milo released two EPs, this is the first one. I was initially turned off by the weird nerd "namedropping" that was prevalent in all the tracks but I guess that's kind of his think and he makes it work.

Saltillo - Ganglion [2006]

"That I have turn'd away my former self;
So will I those that kept me company."
This album was my first introduction into trip-hop and I loved it. It still remains on of my all time favorite albums. Something about the combinations of violin, cello, drums, electronic effects and well placed vocal samples really makes this amazing to me.
